William Spann

Mr. William H. Spann Jr., 71, of Preston, passed away Monday, March 2, 2026, at Perfect Care Personal Care Home. He was born June 16, 1954, in Richland, Georgia. Mr. Spann was formerly employed as a groundskeeper for the Georgia Visitors Center in Plains, Georgia. He loved farm animals. He especially enjoyed raising chickens and attending chicken sales. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, wrestling, sports, and the outdoors. He also collected T-shirts, coffee mugs, and hats.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Howard Spann Sr. and Beatrice Johnson Spann. He is survived by his brother, Jay Spann of Preston, Georgia; his sister, Donna Pelfrey (Casey) of Phenix City, Alabama; nieces and nephew, Kelly Favors (Galin), Scott Cook, Liz Pelfrey, and great-nieces and great-nephews Malana Johnston, Gabe Reed, Parker Favors, Gracie Favors, and Declan Cook.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2026 in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Gary Cullison and Rev. Raymond Smith will officiate the service. The family will greet family and friends on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in the Funeral Home Chapel from 11:00 a.m. until service time for visitation. The family has asked that family and friends dress causal.
