Mr. William Emery Smith

Mr. William Emery Smith, age 79, of Americus, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Central Baptist Church in Americus. Rev. Dr. Bryan Myers and Rev. Eric Hammond will officiate the service. The family will greet friends Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Central Baptist Church. Emery was born February 3, 1945 in Orlando, FL. He was the son of the late Hermit E. Smith and the late Effie Dunn Smith and was raised in Apopka, FL. He attended Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College in Tifton, GA where he received a degree in Agriculture Machine Science. That began his love for GA. After college he returned to Apopka to join his father as a citrus grower and cattleman. He and his wife Paulette married there, beginning their journey.
