Mr. William Alan Carson

Mr. William Alan Carson age 78, passed away Saturday. October 14, 2023 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Coaches, Tim Estes, Jeff Fussell and Dwight Harris will officiate the service. The family will visit friends at the cemetery from 10:00 a.m. until service time and following the service. William Alan Carson was born October 4, 1945 in Americus. He was the son of the late William Andrew Carson and the late Annie Laura Holbrook Carson. Mr. Carson worked for several local businesses, Sheffield Hardware, Carson Brothers Tractor Company and Plains Products. He coached youth baseball for more than 25 years at the Sumter County Recreation Department. Youth baseball was his passion but he was also a big Georgia football fan.
