William Wayman "Buzz" Sawyer

Mr. William Wayman "Buzz" Sawyer age 88, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 26, 2014 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014 at Shiloh Baptist Church. Rev. Hugh Harbort will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The following will serve as Pallbearers, James Harper, William Reid, Robbie Underwood, David Jordan, Hal Dunmon, Gary Cross and Sammy Adams.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour before services and other times the family residence 261 Memorial Mile Americus.      Mr. Sawyer was born March 4, 1926 in Sylvester, Ga. son of the late Arthur Gilbert Sawyer and Ruby Glover Sawyer.  He was a Farmer and Furniture Salesman. Mr. Sawyer served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
