Mr. William Arthur "Billy" Tye

William Arthur (Billy) Tye died on Sunday July 21, 2024. He was born in Americus, Georgia On September 14, 1945 to Warren Douglas and Helen Powell Tye. He was preceded in death by his brother, Warren Douglas, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Kaye Ellen Hathaway, who was his best friend for 56 years. He is also survived by his son, Brian Jeffrey Tye, Brian's wife, Evie, and their daughter Lilly, and his daughter, Melanie Tye Lipscomb, her husband, Matt, and their four children, Mary Hathaway Busby, (husband, John), Annie, Robert, and Ivan. In addition, Billy was thrilled to welcome John Caleb Busby, "Cal", a great -grandson this past December. Growing up in Americus, Billy enjoyed small town living. Hunting and fishing were always high on his list of favorites. At Americus High School, he was by far the best dancer, and he also earned the accolade of "best all-around person" in the AHS yearbook.
