Mrs. Vivian Bridges Milton

Sara Vivian Bridges Milton, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024 at her home. She was 81. Vivian was born September 20, 1943 in Americus. She was the daughter of the late Robert Hugo Bridges and the late Katie Isabelle Boyd Bridges.Vivian graduated from Americus High School in 1961 and continued her education at Georgia Southwestern, where she earned her ASN in Nursing in 1965. She served as the night supervisor at Sumter Regional Hospital before continuing her education. In 1975, Vivian graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina with a degree in Midwifery. For over 30 years, she worked alongside Drs. Gatewood Dudley and Wallace Mays, providing care to countless families in Sumter and the surrounding Counties. Vivian's work as a nurse-midwife touched the lives of many, bringing thousands of babies into the world.
