Virginia J. (Jones) Holt

Mrs. Virginia Jones Holt age 101, passed away Monday October 14, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Lee Street United Methodist Church. Rev. Betty Lou Miller will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Lee Street United Methodist Church fellowship hall.     Mrs. Holt was born May 18, 1912 in Camilla Ga., daughter of the late Billie Henry Jones and the late Jessie Rilla Bowles Jones. She grew up in a family of eight children. Mrs. Holt moved to Americus in 1937 with her husband Clifford Raymond Holt Sr. and in 1954 together they founded Raymond Holt Auto Parts in Americus. She joined Lee Street United Methodist Church in 1938 and over the years served in various capacities. She was General Chairman of the Lee Street Methodist Church parsonage committee; she was active in the church women organizations, having served as Circle Leader and as a member of the Mattie Lee Buchanan Sunday School Class and Treasurer for 13 years....
