Mrs. Vera Bishop Howell

Mrs. Vera Bishop Howell age 99, of Americus, passed away early Monday, morning March 6, 2023. Private Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rev. Damon Fountain will officiate the service. Vera Bishop Howell was born December 7, 1923 in Americus. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Bailey Bishop and the late Nellie Vaughn Bishop. She was a Homemaker and member of Brooklyn Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Polly White of Americus. Two sons and daughters-in-law, Oscar Herbert Howell and Maria of Americus and John Russell Howell and Jean of Americus. One sister, Judy B. Tanner of Ashville, NC, and a son-in-law, Jimmy Holley of Americus. Twelve grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews survive.
