Mr. Tyrone "Tye" Walter Powell

Mr. Tyrone Walter Powell "Tye" age 83, of Ellaville, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday December 4, 2023 at Shiloh Baptist Church. Rev. Stephen Fripp and Rev. Hugh Harbort will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends Sunday afternoon December 3rd from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Aldridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Tye was born September 15, 1940 in Sumter County. He was the son of the late John Thomas Powell and the late Willie Young Powell. He retired from J & M Trucking after many years as a mechanic. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Carolyn Powell of Ellaville and her sons, Richard McLemore (Sherry) of Ellaville and Phillip McLemore of Americus. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
