Timothy Edward Buchanan

Timothy Edward Buchanan, age 63, of Plains, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence. A family service will be planned at a future date.

Tim was born July 18, 1963, to Brooks and Beverly Buchanan. A graduate of Southland Academy, Tim earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Social Administration from Georgia Southwestern State University. He was a lifelong educator and made a difference in the lives of many students. He was also a member of Sigma Chi fraternity where he made lifelong friends. After retirement, Tim enjoyed spending time with his five dogs, working in his yard and supporting activities in downtown Plains.

Tim is lovingly remembered by his mother, Beverly Wise Buchanan; nephews, Cody Wise Buchanan and Cory Brooks Buchanan; Aunt Jean Buchanan Howell (Russell) of Americus, Georgia, and Uncle Dr. David Wise (Jane Ann) of Miami, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father, Brooks E. Buchanan III and brother Kelly Wise Buchanan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sumter County Humane Society or charity of choice.
