Mr. Thomas Boyd Jackson

Thomas Boyd Jackson, age 75, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. The family will greet friends Friday, July 12th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Aldridge Funeral & Cremation Services in Americus GA. Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the Smithville City Cemetery. Rev. Damon Fountain will officiate the service. Mr. Jackson was born July 1, 1949, in Plains GA. He attended Smithville Academy and was a graduate of Plains High School. He grew up in the Lee/Sumter County area. He later spent time with relatives in the Lithonia/Stone Mountain area where he worked at a salvage yard. During his time in North Ga, he met the love of his life, Mary Nell Jones. They were married on June 12th, 1969. Due to the lack of fishing possibilities, he packed up his new wife and horse and returned to the area he grew up in.
