Sarah W. (Watts) Cheek

Ms. Sarah W. Cheek age 86 passed away Friday evening August 16, 2013 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, in Americus.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday August 18, 2013 at Lee Street United Methodist Church. Rev. Betty Lou Miller and Rev. C. G. Haugabook will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Aldridge Funeral Services, Saturday afternoon August 17, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and other times the family residence 123 Cedar Ridge Drive Americus.  Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Harrod, Michael Harrod, Tom Harrod, Michael Mathis, Ricky Simpson, Gary Simpson, Adam Smith, Khail Foster and Graham Harrod.      Ms. Cheek was born May 31, 1927 in Americus, Ga., daughter of the late Demps Postell Watts and Winifred Lunsford Watts.  Mrs. Cheek was a Telephone Operator and was retired from the Sumter County Sheriff's Department; where she was a dispatcher.
