Mr. Samuel James Nutt Sr

Mr. Samuel James Nutt Sr. age 81, of Americus, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2023 in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Rev. Hugh Harbort will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Samuel James Nutt Sr. was born July 23, 1942 in Crisp County. He was the son of the late Daniel H. Nutt and the late Bertha Mae Dillard Nutt. Mr. Nutt retired from Cooper Lighting. He enjoyed wood working, gardening and playing the drums. He also loved singing and leading church music, preaching God's word and serving as a Deacon. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
