Mr. Roy Francis Daniel

Mr. Roy F. Daniel Sr., age 90, of 235 District Line Road, Americus died at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center Friday, May 26, 2017. A funeral service will be held Monday, May 29, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Reverend Andy Taunton and Reverend Thomas Woolsey will officiate. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Aldridge Funeral Services. Mr. Roy F. Daniel was born January 14, 1927 in Sumter County. He was the son of the late George Emmett Daniel and the late Minnie McAllister Daniel. Mr. Daniel was a United States Navy Veteran. He spent his entire life as a farmer. He served as Deacon of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for 67 years and served on the board of Sumter Bank & Trust and the board of the Sumter Livestock Association.
