Mr. Robert Whitley Hightower, age 66, of West Furlow Street, Americus died Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Early Memorial Nursing Home in Blakely, GA. Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Grace Community Church in Americus, GA. The family will receive friends following the service at the residence 430 West Furlow Street, Americus. Mr. Hightower was born April 7, 1950. He was the son of the late Robert Wheeler Hightower and the late Mary Emily Smith Hightower. Mr. Hightower was a retired cab driver, having served the cities of Brunswick and Columbus, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Wheeler Hightower and Mary Emily Smith Hightower, as well as his sister, Mary Anna Hightower Magowen and a brother, Leon Hightower. Survivors include one sister, Rachel Hightower Avery and her husband, Henry and four nephews: Clay Avery and his wife Liz, Eric Avery, Rob Avery, and Zane Avery and his wife Ashley, all of Americus.
