Mr. Robert J. Busby

Robert J. Busby, age 97, of Americus, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024. A ceremony to honor and celebrate Jack's life will be held at the First Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 13, at 10:30 a.m. Dr. Sam Harper, Rev. Keith Parks, Rev. Mike Truitt and Rev. Rusty Mauldin will participate in the service. Graveside services with military honors will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, February 12, from 5-7 p.m. at Aldridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Robert Jack Busby was born on September 27, 1926, in Newton County, Mississippi son of the late Edgar Ross Busby and the late Mary Susan Johnson Busby. Jack served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his military service, he pursued higher education at South Georgia Technical School. He later returned and dedicated 30 years of his career as a Diesel Mechanic Instructor at South Georgia Tech, sharing his expertise with others.
