Mr. Ray O. Nelson Jr.

Mr. Ray O. Nelson, Jr. "Roney", age 80, of Smithville, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at his home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 22, 2025 at the DeSoto City Cemetery. The family will greet friends Thursday August 21st from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Aldridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Roney was born January 3, 1945 in Americus. He was the son of the late Ray Owen Nelson Sr. and the Late Eunice Tripp Nelson. He served his country honorably in the Army National Guard. He was a retired Truck Driver. He was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren especially his great granddaughters. Survivors include his daughters, Christy Nelson of Smithville, Missi Musselwhite of Sharpsburg, GA and his son Michael Nelson of Smithville.
