Rachel Martin Whitaker

Mrs. Rachel Martin Whitaker age, 92 passed away at her residence late Thursday evening, February 6, 2014.  Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Lee Street United Methodist Church. Rev. Gary Page and Rev. Betty Lou Miller officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Americus.  The following will serve as Active Pallbearers Tommy Whitaker, Scott Whitaker, Doug McKinney, Mark Goodin, Mitchel Goodin and Phil Phillips. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 p.m. until service time and at other times, the family residence 1308 Rose Ave. in Americus.      Mrs. Whitaker was born April 26, 1921 in Bowersville, Ga. the daughter of the late James Rod Martin and Evelyn Adams Martin.  She had worked for the late Dr. Harold Clayton, Dr. Ray Williams and Dr. Wallace Mays working various positions.
