Mrs. Peggy Ann Short Israel

Mrs. Peggy Ann Short Israel, age 93, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Hebron Baptist Church. Rev. Jim Eubanks will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at Hebron Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Justin Johnson, Henry Johnson, Alan Johnson, Crit Jordan, Trevor Israel, Britt Burrell, James Israel, Eric Israel, AJ Jones and Jake Smith. A native of Sumter County, Mrs. Israel was the daughter of the late Clarence Belvy Short and Ruth Lee Turner Short. She was a 1948 graduate of Plains High School and later earned a degree from Patterson Business School in Americus. She worked at Stapleton Studio in Americus before marrying Harold J.
