Mitzi Marie Dupree

Ms. Mitzi Marie Dupree, age 82, of Americus, peacefully passed away on Thursday,

July 23,2026 at Magnolia Manor Assisted Living.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, August 8, 2026, in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Rev. Colton Taunton will officiate the service.

Born on January 5, 1944, in Americus, Georgia., Mitzi was the daughter of the late William Benjamin Dupree and Vivian Kuykendall Dupree. She lived most of her life in Roswell, Georgia. She retired from Southern Bell.

Mitzi never having children of her own, was a mother to all of her nieces and nephews. She was a champion bowler, she loved roller blading, and was a handyman. She also loved traveling with her family. She was a kind and generous person who loved helping others. She found her greatest happiness in spending time with those she loved.

She is survived by two sisters, Donna Dupree Maggio of Punta Gorda, Florida and Kathryn McCarty of Americus, Georgia. She had numerous nieces and nephews, Cami Gharakhani (Vanik) of Savannah, Georgia. Brooks McCarty (Kym) of Savannah, Georgia. Ben Dupree (Marcia) of Americus, Georgia, Ginger Dupree of St. Simons Island, Georgia, Jonathan Maggio (Dawn) of Coconut Creek, Florida, Jeffrey Maggio (Nicole) of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Mitzi Maggio Rigden (Todd) of Punta Gorda, Florida, Charles Fairbrother (Tonya) of Leesburg, Georgia. She also had numerous great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Mitzi was proceeded in death by her two brothers Benjamin Dupree and John Dupree.

Though she will be deeply missed, Mitzi’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

The family requests any memorials be made to Phoebe Sumter Hospice and the League of Good Samaritan at Magnolia Manor.
