Mildred Julia Smith

Ms. Mildred Julia Smith, age 87, of Americus, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026 at Magnolia Manor in Buena Vista. A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2026 in the Chapel of Aldridge Funeral & Cremation Services from 5:00 P.M – 6:00 P.M. A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pastor James Burke will be officiating.

Mildred Julia Smith, was born January 12, 1939 to the late James and Julia Miller Smith. She was a faithful member of Light House Primitive Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed gardening, mowing her own grass, baking cakes for everyone and crocheting.

She is survived by her three sons; Randall Kelly (Ann), William Kelly (Lisa) and Ira Kelly (Donna). Her siblings; Virginia Driver and John Smith (Jean). She is also survived by six-grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her siblings; Mary Crawley, Jack Smith, James N. Smith, Frances Phillips, Buey Smith and her grandson, Randall Matthew Kelly.

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made out to Light House Baptist Church and/or Georgia Hospice.
