Mrs. Mary Janis Baldwin

Mrs. Mary Janis Dixon Baldwin, age 84, passed away peacefully at her residence on December 30, 2023. A service honoring her life will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery on January 3, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. Friends are invited to pay their respects at her residence, 126 Woodvalley Road, on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 3:00 until 7:00 PM. Janis was born on May 21, 1939, in Americus, GA, born to James Dixon and Mary Lou Williams Dixon. She graduated from Americus High School in 1957 and pursued higher education at Georgia Southwestern and Valdosta State University, where she graduated in 1962 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education. She taught as a middle-grade educator in Atlanta and Americus. On August 18, 1963, she married George Ray Baldwin. They shared a lifetime of love together until his passing in January 2022.
