Ms. Marianne S. Griffith, age 85, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in York South Carolina. Rev. Tom McPhail will officiate. The family is receiving friend at the residence of James R. Griffith III 111 Glenwood Road, Americus. Marianne Shannon Griffith was born January 21, 1933 in York South Carolina, daughter of the late Frank Shannon and the late Maude Hollis Shannon. She was a Homemaker and member of First Presbyterian Church in Americus. Ms. Griffith was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Survivors include a son James R. Griffith III (Patti) of Americus and a daughter Shannon Preston (Ward) of Raleigh, NC; a sister Frankie S. Dickson of York, SC and three grandchildren, Jake Griffith (Katie), Jami Griffith Welch (Josh) and Kate Griffith. Two great granddaughters Anna Leigh Welch and Emma Louise Welch.
