Mrs. Margie Evelyn Jackson Powell, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2015 in Americus, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2015 in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services. Rev. Guy Mathis will officiate. Interment will follow at the DeSoto City Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the chapel at Aldridge Funeral Services on Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Powell was born in Sumter County, GA on June 1, 1928, the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and the late Miriam Whitt Jackson. She worked for many years as a cashier and attended the DeSoto United Methodist Church.
