Mrs. Lula Faye Hatcher, age 66 of Leslie, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the Leslie City Cemetery. Rev. Damon Fountain will officiate the service.
Mrs. Faye Hatcher was born October 9, 1959. She was the daughter of the late, Billy Monroe Varnum, Sr. and the late Peggy Short. She retired from Southland Academy, where she served the lunch room for many years. She enjoyed cooking and canning food, growing flowers and working in her green house. She also collected roosters and was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. Christmas was her favorite time of year.
Mrs. Faye is survived by her husband, Ronnie Hatcher of Leslie; her daughter, Niki Hatcher, and her son and daughter-in-law, Benji Varnum (Katie), her six grandchildren, Ashten Stewart, Bradley Smith, Savannah Varnum, Caleb Smith, Jackson Varnum, Kenady Keuper and her great granddaughter, Emery Smith “Bug”. She will be fondly remembered by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie Legg (Michael) and Jennifer Holbrook (Efrem).
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hatcher was preceded in death by her brothers, Billy Monroe Varnum Jr. and Jimmy Varnum.
The family asked memorial contributions to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Southland Academy.
