Linnie (Powell) Lynn

Mrs. Linnie Powell Lynn passed away Saturday afternoon October 26, 2013 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus.  Funeral services will be held from the Graveside at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Oak Grove Cemetery. Rev. Jim Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.      Mrs. Lynn was born May 23, 1920 in Wrightsville, Ga.  She was the last of six children born to Sampson and Leah Greenway Powell.  She spent much of her childhood on the family farm and at her father's country store in Wrightsville, Ga. She also spent many happy summers at her older sister, Bertha's home in Augusta, Ga.  Bertha and Joe McGowan were a loving second set of parents for her.      In 1940, she married Floyd Hill Wardlow, Jr. of Ashburn, Ga.
