Laverne Watson Moncrief Ms. Laverne Watson Moncrief 90, passed away July 6, 2017 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. at First Assembly of God in Americus, Ga. The service will begin at 3:00 pm with Rev. Noel Culver officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Laverne was born September 14, 1926 in Americus, Ga. She was born to the late Joseph Rufus Watson and Evie Lorene Todd Watson. She worked at Manhattan Shirt Company as a Pocket setter for 35 years. Survivors include 3 daughters; Phyllis Jean Spradley (Donnie) of Ellaville, Marcia Kaye Law of Americus, Rebecca Estelle McKenzie of Dawson, Ga. 3 sisters; Peggy Ann Martinez of Americus, Velma Mae Watson of Americus, Sandra Elaine Washburn (Danny) of Americus, 1 brother; Phillip Wayne Watson (Pat) of Cuthbert, Ga., 1 sister-in-law; Ann Watson, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
