Mrs. Lana S Hicks

On October 12th, 2024, Lana S Hicks went to be with her heavenly father as he called her home. Born in Tifton GA on January 20th, 1949 to EJ and Sara Shaw, she grew up in Americus GA where she attended Americus High School and graduated in 1967. She married Len Hicks III on August 23rd of 1969. After he returned from Vietnam, they moved to Fayetteville NC and then to Kaiserslautern Germany. While in Germany, their son Chris Hicks was born on December 27th, 1971. Shortly after, they moved back to Americus, GA and lived there until 2018 when they relocated to Lancaster, SC to be closer to their grandsons. She and Len were married 55 years this year. While in Americus, Lana was a member of the First Baptist Church, Americus Jaycettes and the Junior Service League. She loved above all else her grandchildren and watching them play sports and grow into young men. She spent many a weekend on the sideline of the rugby field cheering them both on.
