Joyce Abel Parrott

Joyce Abel Parrott, 70, went to be with the Lord on December 16, 2017 at her home in Americus, Georgia after some struggle and complications with cancer. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, January 4, 2018 at The First United Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Rev. Dr. Jerry Rowe, Rev. Dr. Michael Kennedy and Rev. Jason Waters will officiate. Please dress casually for the Celebration of Life. Joyce was born on March 18, 1947 in Macon, Georgia, the first of two daughters of Pete and Libby Abel. She was raised in Macon, Georgia where she met and married Frank Holland Parrott. The couple spent ten years in Augusta, Georgia before moving to Albany, Georgia then on to Americus, Georgia. Mrs. Parrott supported her husband's medical practice in both Albany and Americus, Georgia as office manager. She most recently was an Administrative Assistant for the Sumter County Board of Education Special Education Department.
