Mrs. Joyce Moores Hartsfield

Mrs. Joyce Moores Hartsfield, age 83, of Americus passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at her residence. A funeral service will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist, Highway 280 East, Americus, GA at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 23, 2023. Reverend Marty Dillon will officiate the service. Interment will be private. A visitation will be held in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral & Cremation Services on Saturday, April 22nd from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Mrs. Hartsfield was born on November 25, 1939 in Northern Bay, Newfoundland, Canada. She grew up in St. John's, the capital. She was the daughter of the late Herbert Wilson Moores and Caroline Moores. She was the youngest of her nine siblings. Joyce was an active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She worked for Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL and retired from Georgia Southwestern State University.
