Joseph R. "Joe" Bridges

Mr. Joseph R. Bridges age 93, passed away at his residence early Tuesday morning, October 28, 2014.  Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Keith Parks and Rev. Rusty Mauldin officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery with Military Honors.  Pallbearers will be Michael Lardy, Matthew Lardy, Gary Underwood, Edgar Lee Tidd, Bryce Driver and Steve Driver.  The family will be receiving friends at the family residence 1705 Allmon Drive in Americus during reasonable hours.      Mr. Bridges was born December 24, 1920 in Sylvester, Ga. the son of the late Arthur L. Bridges, Sr. and Georgie Davis Bridges.  He worked at A & P Store in Americus where he met and married Gertrue E.
