Jo Ann Wright Holton

Mrs. Jo Ann Wright Holton, age 92, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 6th, 2026 at her residence. A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 8th in the Chapel of Aldridge Funeral and Cremation Services from 5:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 9th at Rehoboth Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. James Beckett will officiate the services. Her grandsons have been called as active pallbearers: John Barfield, Brandon Wolcott, Dustin Wolcott, Derek Wolcott and Adam Heath.

Jo Ann was born on December 6, 1933, in Eastman, Georgia, to the late Nathaniel Cornelius Wright and Rubye Llewellyn McKinnon Wright. She was a woman who cherished her family and her faith, and she spent her life loving and caring for those around her. Jo Ann was a LPN, having attended South Georgia Technical College, and her caring nature touched many lives throughout the years. She was an active and devoted member of Rehoboth Baptist Church for over 60 years.

She found comfort and fellowship in her church family and leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion that will continue through the generations of her family. She loved to quilt and sew; do puzzles, puzzle books, and read; work in her yard, and bake-especially birthday cakes.

Jo Ann is survived by her three daughters, Sandra (Gregg) Wolcott of Americus, Lynn Heath of Smithville, and Barbara (Johnny) Legg of Andersonville; her bonus daughter-in-love, Sue Mathis; her brother, Duncan (Cecelia) Wright of Florida; and her sister, Sara (Jerry) Paul of Missouri.

She is also survived by her thirteen grandchildren, John (Julie) Barfield, Kim (Matthew) Cullifer, Deena (Matt) Britt, Leslie (Brian) Pitts, Lisa (Tim) Holman, Leah (James) Bradfield, Brandon (Abby) Wolcott, Dustin (Taylor) Wolcott, Derek (Sara Beth) Wolcott, Adam Heath, Kara Heath, Anna (Andrew) Meredith, and Mallory (Matt) Duncan; as well as twenty-five great-grandchildren: Anna Kate, Jackson, Avery and Emily Ryan Cullifer, Fisher and Annalise Britt, Joseph and Sophia Pitts, Daniel, Dylan, David, Dawson Holman and Hunter Cromer, Kylie Deal, Autumn Bradfield, Madison, Thomas and Barrett Wolcott, Evelyn Wolcott and Baby Wolcott, Hope McCarty, Emma and Ella Harbuck, Drew Meredith, Baby Duncan and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey LeRoy (Roy) Holton; her two brothers, Jerald Wright and Wendell Wright; her three daughters, Carolyn Jean Barfield, Margie Ann Mathis, and Joyce Ellen McCrary; and her sons-in-law, Wayne Mathis and Andy McCrary.

Jo Ann will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to her family, and the quiet strength of her faith. She leaves behind a beautiful family who will carry her memory in their hearts and cherish the many years of love she gave them. Though she will be deeply missed, her loved ones can find comfort knowing that her earthly journey is complete and that she is resting in the arms of her Savior.
