Janis Kelley Lacy

Mrs. Janis Kelley Lacy age 73, of Leslie, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026 at her home. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. at graveside at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery on March 10, 2026.

Born August 3, 1952 to the late Bud Kelley and Allene Bradley Kelley. She was one of four sisters that shared a great bond throughout her life, she was the brave and courageous one, a leader.

She is survived by her husband Layne Lacy; her son, Ryan Lacy (Lauren); her two daughters, Kimberly Dauzat, Terri (Stan) Jones, two grandsons Jeremy Morgan, Ben Goodin; two granddaughters, Rylin Lacy and Lainey Lacy; sisters, Linda (Larry) Trussell, Debbie (Russell) Philmon; a friend like a sister Laura (Gil) Pittman; 2 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

She was a wife, mother, GiGi, sister, and friend to many. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Leslie, Ga. Sunday school teacher for over 15 years, member of WMU and served on various committees and missions. She was well known for running Lacy Paint and Body Shop with her husband and son. She was a hard worker just like her daddy.

She loved time spent with her granddaughters, their favorite days were spent shopping trips just the three of them. She loved them so. She enjoyed taking trips with the six pack! She didn’t miss a day without her daily walk.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Carol Vaughan, a grandson, Cody Jones, and two nephews.
