Janifer Carol Underwood

Mrs. Janifer Carol Bolton Underwood, age 71, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2025 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2025 in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Rev. Matt Murphy will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends Monday, December 29th from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Aldridge Funeral & Cremation Services.

Janifer Carol Bolton Underwood was born September 3, 1954 in Americus. She was the daughter of the late James Harold Bolton and the late Bernice Louise Terrance Bolton. She along with her husband Mike, owned and operated Underwood Used Car Lot in Americus for many years.

She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Wayne “Mike” Underwood of Americus; her daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa Conger (Waymon) of Scooterville, Ga, Bonnie Johnson (Brent) of Marietta, GA and Christina Lawhorn (Chet) of Woodberry, GA. Six sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Keith Underwood of Plains, Timothy Eugene Dukes (Julie) of Preston, James Tommy Underwood (Donna) of Plains, Steven Leon Underwood (Megan) of Plains, Wes Hargrove of Americus and Billy Short (Brandy) of Butler, Ga. She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce Bryant (Bobby) of Americus; twenty six grandchildren, Olivia Underwood, Brittany Underwood, Haley Harry (Ty), Michael Underwood, Lexie Underwood, Chason Underwood, Savana Underwood, Sarah Underwood Smith (William), Miranda Underwood, Kyndall Underwood, Aiden McIlrath, James Tommy Underwood, Jr., Callie Lawhorn, Hoke Lawhorn, Tesla Short, Will Short, Dakota Conger, Dalton Conger, Bradley Dukes, Katelyn Johnson, Trey Johnson, Steven Underwood II, Karlee Underwood, Harley Hargrove, Chad Hargrove, Daniel Taylor and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Jan was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Bolton, Freddie Bolton and a grandson Brandon Dukes.
