James "Marvin" Nation stepped into heaven on April 18, 2025 after a lengthy but valiant battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was born in Americus, Ga and lived most of his life there until 2018 when he went to live with his only daughter and her family in Cartersville, Ga. A graveside service will be held at Lebanon Cemetery in Plains, GA at 11:30 A.M on Friday, April 25, 2025. Rev. Hugh DeLoach will officiate the service. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
Marvin was a graduate of Americus High School Class of 1958 where he played football and served as a Senior Class Officer. He attended and graduated from Auburn University in 1962 and was a proud supporter and loyal fan until his death. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Marvin also graduated from the LSU School of Banking. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the Army until his honorable discharge in 1969.
