Mr. James Harold Bankston

Mr. James Harold Bankston, age 95 of Preston, GA, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Preston Methodist Church, Rev. Raymond Smith and Rev. R T Beverly will officiate the service. Interment will follow at the Preston City Cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery. James Harold Bankston was born June 17, 1928 in Preston, Georgia. He was the son of the late Robert Herman Bankston and the late Martha Susan Bankston. Mr. Bankston was a retired Farmer. He was an active member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans; the oldest member of the Kinchafoonee Wildlife Club and long-time member of Preston Methodist Church. Mr. Bankston was a genealogy buff. Spending years tracing his family back to the 1400's in Sweden. He graduated from South Georgia Technical School and began his career by opening a radio shop in Americus.
