Henry Lamar Salter Sr.

Henry Lamar Salter, Sr. age 80, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at Pheobe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2026 in the Chapel of Aldridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Rev. Bryan Myers will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Aldridge Funeral & Cremation Services.

Henry Lamar Salter, Sr. was born August 9, 1946 in Americus. He was the son of the late Virgil Lee Salter and the late Beulah Byrd Salter. He owned and operated Monroe’s Hot Dogs for 46 years. Lamar was a hardworking devoted business man. He enjoyed playing Pool and visiting Casinos. He cherished his family and the time spent serving his community.

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Stacie Daniel of Americus and Teresa Wellons (Greg) of Americus. Two sons Henry Lamar Salter, Jr. of Americus and Chad Salter of Americus. Lamar is also survived by three sisters, Carol Bass of Americus, Geraldine Reddish of Americus, Dorothy Carpenter of Marriana, FL and two brothers, Bobby Salter of Americus and Leon Salter of Americus. Five grandchildren, Alison Daniel, Cory Wellons, Brittany Daniel Benson, Kade Salter, Braxton Salter and four great grandchildren, Paislee Wellons, Jaxon Wellons, Lander Benson and Cami Benson also survive.

In addition to his parents, Lamar was preceded in death by his Wife, Alice Salter, his son-in-law, Carl Daniel, two sisters, Zelma Moore, Billie Batts and a brother, Rayford Salter.
