Mr. Grigsby T. Chappell, age 76, of 191 Grisby Chappel Road, Smithville, GA died peacefully at his residence on December 25, 2015. Mr. Grigsby Thomas Chappell, age 76, of 191 Grisby Chappel Road, Smithville, GA died peacefully at his residence on December 25, 2015. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 27, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Hebron Baptist Church in Americus, GA. Rev. H.C. Harvey, Rev. Jimmy Melvin and Rev. Ron Perry will officiate. The following have been asked to serve as active pallbearers: Harold Israel, Mark Israel, Charles Israel, Hal Israel, James Short and Burton Thomas. Interment will follow the service at the Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the funeral at the church and at other times at 216 Glenwood Road, Americus, GA. Mr. Chappell was born on August 8, 1939 in Americus, GA, son of the late Dr. Jim Chappell and the late Lillian Thomas Chappell.
