Mr. Gordon Alvin Wellons, Jr., age 78, passed away on October 28, 2026. Though his earthly journey has come to a close, the love he shared, the memories he created, and the family he cherished will remain a lasting blessing to all who knew him. There are no services scheduled at this time.

Gordon Alvin Wellons, Jr. was born on January 23, 1948, in Americus, Georgia, to the late Gordon Alvin Wellons, Sr., and Louise Herrington Wellons. A proud graduate of high school, Alvin believed in the value of hard work and dedication. He devoted many years of his life to his career with Weyerhaeuser, where he served as a supervisor. His years of service reflected the hardworking spirit and commitment that he carried throughout his life.

Alvin was also a proud Army Reservist, having served his country with honor. He was affiliated with First Baptist Church, where his faith and connection to his community were a meaningful part of his life.

Above all, Alvin will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished Pop. His family was his pride and joy, and the love he had for them was evident in the life he lived. He leaves behind a legacy that reaches beyond his years, carried on through the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Alvin leaves behind his beloved wife, Gail Robinson Wellons; his four daughters, Dee Bivins of Americus, Shawna Nobles (Ken) of Americus, Angela Dailey (John) of Tupelo, Mississippi, and Cynthia Faircloth of Americus; and his brother, Rusty Wellons (Honey) of Americus.

His memory will be treasured by his eight grandchildren, Nikki Bivins, Jake Bivins, Shaye Burson, Levi Nobles, Lenzee Nobles, Justin Dailey, Meaghan Holt, and Zac Faircloth. His legacy of love continues through his eleven great-grandchildren, Cayden Bivins, Kenzie Jones, Landon Bivins, Emberly Bivins, Roy Stanley Bivins, Kyler Nobles, Ava Jacobson, Hilton Jacobson, Olivia Jacobson, Paisley Lindsey, and Wyatt Dailey.

In addition to his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by his sister, Bettye MaCquirter, and his brother, Randy Wellons.

As his family and friends reflect upon a life well lived, may they find comfort in the countless memories shared, the lessons he imparted, and the love that will never fade. Though he will be deeply missed, the legacy of a devoted husband, loving father, and proud Pop will live on through the generations he leaves behind. His earthly work is done, but the love he planted in the hearts of his family will continue to grow for years to come.
