Mr. Glenn Richard McAfee, age 85, of Americus, passed away, Friday, March 03, 2023 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2023 in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services. Rev. Noel Collver will officiate the service. The family will receive friends Monday, March 6, 2023 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Aldridge Funeral Services and at other times, the residence of Tammye and Brett Hewett, 105 Pinecrest Drive, Americus. Glenn Richard McAfee was born December 3, 1937, in Madison County, GA. He was the son of the late Claude Glenn McAfee and the late Reba Mae Landers McAfee. Mr. McAfee grew up "in the country", as he and his brothers and sisters helped their father, a farm manager, oversee several Sumter County farms. As a young man, he worked at Redman Industries and Champion Mobile Homes, and also at K & L Furniture, before becoming a policeman with the Americus Police Department.
