Ms. Georgia Nannette "Nan" Gunn of Americus passed away on Memorial Day, May 28, 2018 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. She was 86.
A visitation will be held Thursday, May 31 from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. and from 1 - 2 pm Friday in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 1 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services. Chaplain Albert Foster of American Legion Post 2 and Thomas "Tommy" Gunn will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Ms. Nan Gun was born June 29, 1931 in Americus, GA. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Cobb Gunn Sr. and Mildred Joyner Gunn Lawless. She was a Korean War Veteran of the Women's Army Corps (WAC), having served five years from 1951 to 1955. She was assigned to the Army Signal Corps. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
She was a graduate of Americus High School and she attended and completed army schools in communications. She had top secret clearance and was often escorted by M.P.'s when...
