Mrs. Evelyn Turner Stewart

Mrs. Evelyn Turner Stewart, age 100, of 202 Lorraine Avenue, Americus passed away peacefully on Monday, November 30, 2015 at Phoebe Sumter Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday December 5, 2015 in the chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services. Rev. Bill Dupree will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday, December 5, 2015. Mrs. Stewart was born March 5, 1915 in Franklin County GA, daughter of the late Charles A. Turner and the late Minnie Lee Andrews Turner. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Americus and served in the Women's Christian Society. Mrs. Stewart worked for the former A. Cohen & Sons in the ladies dress shop and the Sumter County School Board before retirement. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob Stewart [Celeste] of Dalton GA, and Bill Stewart [Martha] of Houston, TX; and two grandchildren, Jeffrey Turner Stewart and Jennifer Stewart,...
