Mrs. Evelyn Pelham Heys

Evelyn Pelham Heys, age 93 of Americus, GA, passed away Saturday April 9, 2022. Mrs. Heys was born October 28, 1928 in Monroe County, Al. She was the daughter of the late William H. Pelham and the late Catherine Elizabeth Williams Pelham. Mrs. Heys loved to learn. She earned a BA and MA degrees in education. She enjoyed traveling Europe and Asia and loved to play bridge. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bill Heys (Diane) of Americus. Grandsons Ed Heys of Florida and Stewart Holley of New Jersey. Two great grandchildren also survive. In addition to her parents Mrs. Heys was preceded in death by her husband William Stewart "Billy" Heys Sr. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2022 graveside at Oak Grove Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Daryl Brown will officiate the service. The family has requested that no flowers be sent.
