Mr. Emory Eugene "Gene" Hartsfield Jr., age 83, of Americus, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at his home. Funeral services will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, HWY 280 East, Americus, GA on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 11:00AM. Rev. Marty Dillon and Rev Robert Orr will officiate the service. Masonic Rites to follow. Born July 14, 1938, in Stewart County, GA, Mr. Hartsfield was the son of the late Emory Eugene Hartsfield Sr. and the late Mayjorie Payne Hartsfield of Richland, GA. He was a retiree of Seaboard Coastline Railroad, Tallahassee, FL. Mr. Hartsfield was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and a member of M.B. Council Lodge No. 13, Free and Accepted Masons and had served as Worshipful Master several times over the past years.
