Mrs. Elizabeth Baker Ivey

Mrs. Elizabeth B. Ivey age 89, of Americus, GA, died peacefully on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Phoebe Sumter Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 21, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. graveside at Oak Grove Cemetery in Americus. Reverend Hugh Harbort will officiate. Mrs. Ivey was born on March 29, 1926 in Americus, GA daughter of the late James Willie Baker and the late Minnie Lee Chapman. She worked many years at Manhattan Shirt Company and was also a rural mail carrier. Mrs. Ivey was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include two daughters, Linda and James Tondee of Ellaville and Vicki and Daniel Beacham of Americus. Four grandchildren, Kenneth Tondee, Terry Tondee, Vikkilynn Baxley and Lynn Oakes; nine great grandchildren and eight, great ,great grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Ivey was preceded in death by four sisters Willie Ruth Crutchfield, Cristine Crenshaw, Thelma Fitzgerald and Julie King. One brother James Alvin Baker also preceded her in death.
