Eleanor Anne Hurst

Ms. Eleanor Anne Hurst age 88 passed away Wednesday morning, July 23, 2014 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center.  Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014 Oak Grove Cemetery Rev. Bill Dupree will officiate.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday morning, July 26, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.      Ms. Hurst was born July 14, 1926 in Albany, Ga. the daughter of the late Emory Heard Hurst and Mamie Alice Stewart Hurst.  She had never married: she always referred to herself as "an unclaimed treasure"!  She was a retired academic librarian having served at Stetson University in DeLand, FL. For thirty six years, prior to that she taught school in Georgia for six years.  She graduated from Georgia Southwestern University, Georgia College and State University at Milledgeville and Emory University where she received a Masters Degree in librarianship.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Americus and was a member of United Methodist Women.  Member of...
