Miss Eleanor Bell

Miss Eleanor Bell, 97, passed away peacefully at Phoebe Sumter Medical Sumter in Americus, GA on November 21, 2015. Funeral services will be held graveside on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM. at Shiloh Baptist Church in Americus, GA. Reverend Bill Dupree and Rev. Stan Littleton will officiate. The family will receive friends and family in the chapel at Aldridge Funeral Services from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, November 22, 2015 and at other times at 681 Lasco Harvey Road, Americus, GA. Ms. Bell was born in Moltrie, GA on December 3, 1917 to William McElroy Bell and Camilla Johnston Bell. She moved with her family to Americus, GA in 1922. She started school at Shiloh at the age of seven and completed 1st and 2nd grades in one year. She transferred to Anthony School to complete the 11th grade where she graduated as the class valedictorian.
