Mrs. Doris Goodwin

Mrs. Doris Wells Goodwin, affectionately known as "Miss Doris", passed away at the age of 90 on Monday, August 24, 2015 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus GA. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the rostrum at Andersonville National Cemetery. Dr. Bryan Myers will officiate. Interment will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the chapel at Aldridge Funeral Services on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Miss Doris was born on November 22, 1924 in Tifton, GA in Tift County, GA, the daughter of the late Elmer Wells and the late Leah Edith Richards Wells. She graduated from Tift County High School and attended business school in Macon, GA after serving in the female-only U.S. Naval Reserves "WAVES" during WWII from 1944-1945.
