Donald Bobby Nelson

Donald Bobby Nelson (Donnie) passed away at his home at Perfect Care on October 4, 2026. He was born August 3, 1949 in Alexandria, Virginia to Alice Hale Harris who preceded him in death in 1995.

Donnie grew up on the farm in Plains surrounded by family. Despite his limitations, he lived a full life. He could drive a tractor, lawnmower, boat and a truck (without a license, of course). Richard installed a Dukes of Hazard horn on the truck and you could definitely hear him coming up the road. He enjoyed Westerns, Air Wolf and Dukes of Hazard on television and had an amazing memory of the character's names.

He moved to Perfect Care fourteen years ago and they became like family. He loved all the ones who took care of hm. He gave lots of hugs and compliments to the women.

Donnie is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Robin Nelson, his nephew and his wife, Jeremy and Marisa Nelson of San Diego, California and (step) nephew and family, Brad, Simone, Hannah and Jonas Wolfe of Mering, Germany along with lots of cousins.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at Lebanon Cemetery in Plains with Rev. Bryan Myers officiating.
