Mrs. Cordelia Ann Whaley

Mrs. Cordelia Ann Horne Whaley age 87, passed away early Wednesday morning October 25, 2023 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 11:00am at Oak Grove Cemetery. Dr. Daryl Brown will officiate the service. The family will greet friends Sunday afternoon from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Aldridge Funeral & Cremation Services. Cordelia Ann Horne Whaley was born in 1936 in Americus, Ga. She was the daughter of the late James William Horne and the late Zula Sheppard Horne. Mrs. Whaley attended Americus High School and graduated in 1954. She was introduced by a family member to the love of her life, Jim Whaley, an Americus native, in 1955. They were married later that year on June 12, and Cordelia became a devoted military wife traveling the country and world.
